ABOUT

Hi, I'm Sara!

I've always had an interest in marketing and communications, but quickly became intrigued with web design when I was a senior in college. Wanting to expand on my knowledge and share my interests with others, I launched Sara Turnley Consulting specialized in marketing, creative directing, communications, content marketing, social media marketing, photography and web design. From small-business marketing to nonprofit branding and communications, each opportunity has provided me with experiences, lessons and skills that I carry with me throughout all challenges and opportunities thrown my way.

My experiences, both professional and personal, have taken me all around the world, up and down different paths, but each has the foundational grounding of “helping and serving others.” I know at my core that where I am meant to be is supporting and serving others. Whether it’s marketing mortgage education to help homebuyers conquer their American dream to buy a home or marketing for a nonprofit to expand its mission reach, every small task has the potential impact to support or serve. When I’m not serving others, I’m adventuring, learning, exercising, volunteering, and giving back to myself so I can turn around and spread that back to others.

Babe Ruth once said, "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game," and I have lived by his words for as long as I can remember. Giving up is not the answer, and I strive to live life with a positive attitude.

I am a hardworking, creative and outgoing individual with a heart for adventure and a passion for serving others. I love a good challenge and I have never been afraid of change, I believe it is a character builder. Family means the world to me and I love to spend time with friends. I wouldn't be who I am without them.

Born in a military family and the youngest of two set the building blocks for the person I am today. My dad was a Naval officer so living the "Navy brat" life described my childhood. For 13 years, moving to a new place every year was a reality. It wasn't until high school we stayed in the same place for four years, the longest I have had the opportunity to call one place "home." With five cross-country moves and 10 different houses, my childhood was one for the books. At a young age, my dad also instilled the importance of travel to gain skills and exposure to a variety of cultures. In my 27 years, I've lived in 18 different houses, I've visited 44 states, four continents and four countries in the Caribbean. These experiences broadened my perspective and fueled my growing love for travel.

I attended Colorado State University for my freshman year and enjoyed every opportunity, but realized it wasn't the proper choice for me at the time. I decided to transfer to Auburn University, one of the best decisions I've made, and looking back I would do everything the same if I could do it over again. Both Colorado State and Auburn provided me with a strong education, valuable skills and life-long memories I will always cherish.

Thank you for your time and interest in learning about who I am! I look forward to working with you!

Cheers friends!
